Robert W. Loreaux
FOUNDER EMERITUS
Bob helped define Axiom’s collaborative character through both his experience and his conviction that truth emerges through exchange. After two decades in the computer and robotics industries, he entered the investment world in 1982 and quickly earned respect for his insight and integrity. Before co-founding Axiom, he served as senior vice president at PaineWebber and was a member of its chairman’s council.
He believed that good ideas are tested through open dialogue, not isolation. His vision of advisors working together — sharing observations, testing assumptions, refining ideas — and his high energy and sincere concerns about client well-being became guiding principles of the firm and one of its living axioms.
Robert’s practicality, clarity and deep understanding of markets continue to shape Axiom’s culture. A graduate of Lehigh University and a U.S. Army veteran, he is honored as founder emeritus for the standards of excellence and collaboration he helped establish. Bob and Jody are enjoying life with their expanding family of grandchildren giving those same efforts.
Albert Matt
FOUNDER EMERITUS
Albert Matt was instrumental in shaping Axiom’s foundation, bringing both precision and vision to the firm’s evolution. Beginning his investment career in 1972, he combined decades of experience with an engineer’s curiosity for systems and structure. His foresight led to the creation of Axiom’s technology backbone — tools and processes that made the firm efficient, responsive and reflective of the same clarity and order he brought to investing.
“Chappy” approached investing with balance and depth of thinking. He dissected ideas methodically, pursuing clarity and eliminating what didn’t hold up under scrutiny. His steady presence and attentiveness earned the confidence of clients and colleagues alike.
His belief that technology should serve human judgment — not replace it — continues to shape Axiom’s philosophy. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Albert Matt is honored as founder emeritus in recognition of his enduring influence on Axiom’s integrity and innovation. Chappy is ensconced up on his 400 acres in Vermont.
